Okay, so my question is "Can you REALLY be sorted into only ONE house?"
Because, if you think about it, we all belong to every house at some point in our lives. You can be kind one day, so you're sorted into Hufflepuff, but then the next you're completely stuck up, so you're sorted into Slytherin... And then sometimes you can be really smart, so you're sorted into Ravenclaw, but everyone has their moments. So how are you supposed to figure it out?
I've narrowed it down to two houses. I think I'm a Ravenpuff... or a Huffleclaw... I think...
I've taken many Sorting Quizzes and most of them say I'm a Ravenclaw so...
Then I think about what Dumbledore has always said about "sorting too soon" and how some Slytherins have proven the stereotypes wrong, like Severus Snape. Not wanting to bash Slytherins, I also thought about how some Gryffindors, like Peter Pettigrew, turn bad.
And then I think, "Why sort at all?" I mean there's probably never going to be house unity so why bother?
These are the questions that haunt me... DFTBA!

I know what you mean. I've been trying to figure out what house I'm in for years (literally) and have gotten nowhere. Well, I wouldn't say nowhere. I think I've finally narrowed out Gryffindor, because I am not very brave. I'm also don't think I fit into the Hufflepuff category, but some sort hat quizzes say I do... so idk.
ReplyDeletewow... I really didn't mean for that to turn into a rant. sorry!
I like this post because there are exceptions to every rule. Snape and Pettigrew. It actually bothers me that there isn't unity because Salizar Slytherin was not evil, he was just very ambitious and probably a little self serving but him and Gryffindor were the best of friends. They ALL were. They just had different personality types and they each had their own values.
ReplyDeleteI think of the Houses the same way colleges and some fancy schmancy high schools divide students. I don't just mean Fraternities and Sororities (though there is that as well) but when I got to college you could actually sign up to be in a dorm with other students who had similar majors as yourself. That way you could study together, and make friends easier. I also found that people with similar majors had similar personalities. omg I'm rambling again, where was I going with this.
Oh yeah ok. So the whole House thing doesn't necessarily decide what kind of person you are going to be based on past students it just puts you with the people it thinks you will get along with best instead of lumping people all together in one dorm. I actually have found that forcing that many people to live together does not help unify them. However, by placing them with like students they form a bit of camaraderie and healthy competition is actually good for people. However, Voldemort I would say is the root cause of the actual rift that now lies between Slytherin and the rest of the houses.
Wow ok now that was a rant lol.
I think you are definitely right in saying that you are a Ravenclaw. I also think you would have been in the DA because its not the House that is important to you it is who your real friends are, and that is what I like about you :)
I am everything, except for a Griffindor. I used to be the typical Ravenclaw: a booksnob and little know-it-all.
ReplyDeleteWhen I got older, I discover I also have a lot of Hufflepuf and Slytherin qualities.
But the only one who has the answer is Whompy.. we're all in the house of awesome.
